I am excited to teach 6th-8th grade Social Studies (Geography: Medieval Times) and Introduction to Forensics at the Heights Tutorial. With 11 years of teaching experience in both public schools and private online Christian schools, I am passionate about creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that connect students with history in meaningful ways.I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and am a certified teacher in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as Social Studies and English for grades 7-12. My teaching style emphasizes multi-modal approaches and inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to think critically, draw connections between the past and present, and explore content through a Biblical Worldview lens.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading historical fiction, crafting, and traveling—especially to my favorite destination, Walt Disney World. My husband, Martin, and I have been married for nearly 19 years and are blessed with three boys: Dawson, Dierks, and Dane—our "3Ds." Martin leads the catering team at Chick-fil-A, and as a family, we love cheering on our boys in basketball and football.
I believe all students can learn, and I strive to make learning relevant and exciting, inspiring students to apply what they learn to their everyday lives.
